FAQ

ISO 22000: frequently asked questions

ISO 22000 incorporates HACCP principles and goes further by providing a complete food safety management system. HACCP is a component of ISO 22000, which also includes management system requirements.
Many countries and major food retailers require ISO 22000 or equivalent certification from their food suppliers. It is highly recommended for organizations looking to export food products.
Certificates are issued by an independent certification body after its own stage 1 and stage 2 audits. Certsure Certification is a consultancy: we prepare your organisation — gap analysis, documentation, training, internal audit and audit support — and coordinate with an accredited certification body. You can verify accredited certificates on IAF CertSearch.
Accredited management system certificates are normally valid for three years, with surveillance audits by the certification body at least once a year and a recertification audit before expiry.
Cost depends mainly on the number of employees and sites, the scope and complexity of your activities, how much of the system already exists, and the certification body's audit days. Contact us with these details for a written quotation — we do not quote a single fixed price for every organisation.
